- Wireless Network changes from 29th July 2010
- 21-07-2010 – IT Services will be decommissioning UoBWLAN on 29th July 2010. The service will be superseded by UOBwifi. Please ensure you switch over to the new wireless network as soon as possible.

- 02-03-2010 – The School's VPN service is now operational again.

- 18-01-2012 – We have just launched our Research Blogs pages where our research staff will be posting their thoughts on research in Computer Science.
- Firefox and Thunderbird
- 16-09-2011 – New version of TB and FF have been pushed out to SL6 machines taking both to version 6.0.2 Changes have also been made to the wrapper scripts in /bham and the -reset scripts to take account of config changes. TB will now only create an IT Services account for new users who have no SoCS [...]
- Firefox updates (SL6)
- 14-09-2011 – Updates for SL6 for Firefox have been pushed out today. This will update Firefox to version 6.0.2. On x86_64 machines it will also bring in x86_64 builds. Note that it may take a day or so for the plugins to update once FF6 is installed.
- LibreOffice � and SL6
- 11-08-2011 – LibreOffice 3.4.2 has been marked for installation on SL6 workstations.
- QT & Kile updated
- 05-07-2011 – QT has been updated to 4.7.3 on SL6 installs. This should fix a minor compat problem with some of the EPEL packages used. Kile has also been updated to 2.1 from an earlier beta release.
